Welcome to the official website dedicated to the Music of Jane Meldgaard

Here you can join the Universe of my contemporary songs for spiritual beings in physical bodies - or songs for empowerment, as my songs are also called.

I believe - among many others - that a proces of great change and tranformation is occuring on Planet Earth these years. A transformation towards more humane, loving and peaceful values.

My songs have come to the planet to support that proces. The songs wish to touch the most powerful part of the listener, to lift our spirit and bring forth the very best of human qualities in each of us. So if you are looking for empowering songs that reflect on life on Planet Earth in this exiting time of change, you have come to the right place.

Extract of Ove Nørhave's review of Marble & Feathers in Nordjyske:

Beautiful Sequel
Following the altogether excellent, but probably quite overlooked “Heart Choice” (2007), Jane Meldgaard is now ready with a new portion of pleasantly laid-back and very balanced songs, which are definitely not tiresome.

The new songs can be placed somewhere between crystal-clear pop, ballad as well as approaching the end-of-the-night jazz, splendidly backed up by Ole Sloth (piano), Peter Søvad (bass), and Martin Kollerup Sørensen (drums).

Offhand, the specific style can be difficult to capture and describe – but it would probably be something similar to narrative and somewhat vivid jazz/pop added with good doses of Latin American rhythms (not to mention the beautiful, elegant, and enchanting “Ups and Downs”), which are suited both for attentive listening and as background music to create a relaxed atmosphere.

Extract of Flemming Junker's review of HEART CHOICE in Nordjyske:

Jane Meldgaard has created a beautiful, melodious disc worth listening to. With a good and responsive accompaniment, the delightful compositions and beautiful voice of Jane Meldgaard, come entirely into its own.

She sings with a straightforward naturalness and a softened melancholy, which in several instances bring forward connotations to Tracey Thorn from Everything But The Girl, when they were really good.

Heart Choice deserves at least four stars; not only due to the fact that it is interesting and local, but because it is that good.
